Historical pictures

The pictures below were taken out of the book
"Southern Mainlines, Epson to Horsham" with
the courtesy of Vic Mitchell and Keith Smith to
give a rough idea of the "earlier days" of
ockley station.

The pictures are not in a timely correct order.


This picture was taken in 1969 from across the fields.

 


The old signal box of ockley station
The windows and some side panels still survive as a conservatory to a house near by the station but the rest of the architecture was lost and only the foundations can be seen on the platform.
Further enquiries reveal the sign seen above "Ockley" was found in a hole on the platform and has been saved locally.
