The battle to save the station One commuter said "The front canopy disappeared over night, one morning it was there, the next it had gone". When the letter arrived saying the Station Canopy was to be revamped, together with a workman saying between sniffs and rolling his own fag "This lot's coming down mate!" Trevor Burlinson, a local commuter, flashed into action. A friend started hectic communications with local authority's and the heritage trust. A web site was created to show in seconds the various organisations the importance of the station and boost the campaign and the rest is History ! This is why the web site was written once, than it appeared to be a nice information, how an old station could be saved and kept as a piece of english history. And than a friend thought, it would be a good idea to open it up to public. Therefor he redesigned it a little and we hope now, you enjoy reading the following, which, so to speak, reads for itself ! |
